The Bolides - Science Under Pressure ID1233105 LP/CD
Working in their clandestine laboratory in a remote location on the fringes of L.A. County, The Bolides are four scientists experimenting with the physics of rock. Using the binding properties of atomic power, they fuse the periodic elements of garage, keys, pop and punk to create a new concoction never before seen or heard. Their 12 song debut Science Under Pressure is rife with lyrics that take a degree of I.Q. to imbibe. But don't be intimidated by their intelligence. The Bolides are the sound of the future, a future you'll be glad to be a part of. Produced by Lee Joseph.
Buttersprites - Buttersprites ID1233115 CD

Pan-Asian in a volcanic, Pacific Rim kinda way, the Buttersprites draw energy from downtown Tokyo, mossy Seattle pubs, cartoon monsters, and some glamorous parallel universe of glitter, cherry blossoms, and ersatz nurse uniforms. They are fierce, fun, fabulous, and now-y. Their simple and charming sound is like a soundtrack from eighties independent flick, sometimes sweet and sometimes punky, in Japanese and English lyrics.
Clouseaux - Lagoon! ID1233108 LP/CD
Is it a 60’s sci-fi sound track? Is it jet set exotica? Is it what Ward Cleaver uses to seduce his wife June? Maybe it’s a little bit of all of this. Clouseaux composes eerie, intoxicating harmonies and fuses them with the rhythms of “percussionists in full Ricky Ricardo mode” to create the perfect soundscape for Clouseaux’s firebreather as he dazzles cocktail consuming onlookers. You’ll be swept away back in time to tropical noctopias where bartenders in smoking jackets serve up mai-tai’s under shelves lined with shrunken heads. Clouseaux’s exotic compositions will fulfill your most primal desires, leaving you pleasantly refreshed and alive with pleasure.

The Mothers Anger - The Mothers Anger LP/CD ID1233110
The Mothers Anger is a two-piece band from Israel that sounds like a five piece band from Detroit. Jimi is a weird guy. Stitch finds that weirdness very amusing, that and Jimi's hair. The two shared a love for noisy punk bands and noise itself. A few years past and Jimi's hair grew. The band signed to an Israeli label and put out a Hebrew record in Israel. When Jimi's hair got bigger, Stitch knew it's time to leave Israel before the worst will happen. Stitch sold his car, Jimi left his house, and the two landed in New York City. The band regrouped as a duo and hit the road in traditional Wandering Jew fashion - two guys, an old 70s van, some cool vintage equipment, and a burning desire to rock your world. The only thing that was missing was a responsible figure, a father like image to take the boys to school. Mike Davis, bassist from the legendary Detroit rockers The MC5, was the chosen one. He not only produced the album, but also plays on a track. The album is recorded, mastered, and ready to go. Think Nirvana meets Black Sabbath at a Stooges house party. Brace yourself for some of the most full-bodied, raw guts emotion, dead ahead rock and roll this side of Jerusalem. It will be out in September, and Jimi's hair will be...

Peachfuzz - About A Bird LP/CD OS2214
Viva la powerpop!
Like kitchen scientists touting "Better Living Through Chemistry,"
L.A.'s Peachfuzz create a delightful musical concoction - taking all the best
of '60s pop and '70s powerpop and melding it into the snappiest, self-effacing
yet supercharged sound coming out of the new millennium! Like powerpop brethren,
The Shazam, Peachfuzz are Americans ripping off Brits who ripped off Americans
in the first place. From Los Angeles, by way of Clearlake, Texas and Minneapolis,
Minnesota, this trio put equal emphasis on the power as well as the pop, coming
off like a tougher, sexier Fountains of Wayne or Big Star if Alex Chilton was
doing a cocktail of anti-depressants and trucker speed.

Various Artists - Heart So Cold: The Plattsburgh-Burlington 60s Scene CD/LP (BA1197)
Upstate New York was a hotbed of beat music in the early '60s and this is the first compilation to gather cuts from the legendary Rondack and Empire labels in one place! Witness especially Empire mainstays MIKE & THE RAVENS, featuring the amazing Mike Brassard on vocals as well as principal songwriter, 16-year-old Stephen Blodgett. Empire was also home to 'WILD' BILL KENNEDY & THE TWILITERS, who released the first North American cover of "Shakin' All Over" and to many ears, the definitive version. Rondack presents killer cuts from THE PERSUADERS, THE FUGITIVES, THE INFERNOS, and THE MONTERAYS. Independent bands from the North county, THE FALCONS and THE THUNDERBOLTS, contribute garage chestnuts in the form of John Kains' fuzz orgy "I Gotta See Her," the title cut and "There Was I," a song THE BEATLES would have killed for. Many of the songs haven't been reissued at all and there is one previously unreleased tune from THE RAVENS. All songs are taken from either master tapes or pristine vinyl. This compilation also features liner notes and track listings/personnel by Ugly Things' Will Shade. An essential purchase for fans of beat and garage.
